One trip, 2 trip
Tuesday, October 14th, 2008Well, I am almost recovered. Almost! We went on two great trips, almost back to back, and on the first one I did not have my computer, so I was unable to post. As for the second trip, I was just too busy! I’ll be trying to play catch up and make a few posts detailing some of our adventures. Trip 1 was to Europe. We went to Germany, Paris, Rome and Venice. We did it the “Rick Steves’ way” (ha, ha) and wouldn’t recommend going to Europe any other way. I had never been to Europe and didn’t know much about anything related to planning a trip there. After reading and re-reading Rick Steves’ books, I made reservations and itineraries, and guess what . . . things went great! Yes, I know more now than I did before we left for Europe and could probably save some money if I planned another trip right now, but things went really well, the books were full of detailed information, and the only downside was that we didn’t get to do everything that I had on our itinerary.
The second trip was to Hawaii where we used to live, so it wasn’t a trip of discovery for us, but one during which our daughter was married. Another great trip, but not nearly as much adventure every day! Does your daughter want to get married on the beach in Hawaii? It’s not cheap, but it can be done. Our biggest disappointment was that most of our family members (outside of our immediate family) could not make it to Hawaii for the wedding. We really wish that could have been different. But overall, it was another great trip, with memories to last a lifetime.
