Woo-hoo! I reached 50,512 words at 2 p.m. on the last day of NaNoWriMo!

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

I have reached my goal of writing 50,000 words during the month of November on a novel.  It actually is a pretty decent base to work from if I ever take the time to finish working on it and try to make a real novel out of it.  But I am happy, happy!!  What seemed like a nearly impossible goal when I started (actually on Nov 7th), has been accomplished, wow!  Here is my winners award, for all to see:

What better thing to do on a gray, cold, rainy November Sunday in Maryland–can’t think of anything much better than reaching my goal!

NaNoWriMo

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Well, November is almost over.  I talked Brett into joining NaNoWriMo the day before it started this year, and then he talked me into joining also.  So, one day after I signed up, the month began; and the goal:  a 50,000-word story written during the 30-days of November.  So I have neglected my blog, with all my extra time going to writing my story, such as it is!  Actually, I am pleased with the way it is going, but I do need to get back to writing.  I took most of today off to fix the Thanksgiving goodies, but if I have any hope of finishing, then I had better get back at it!

Sunset in So. Maryland

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

When the leaves have all fallen and it isn’t cold enough for snow yet, the landscape can look pretty bleak.  The one saving grace here in southern Maryland is the beautiful sunsets (I guess the cold air is what makes them so pretty).  Here is today’s sunset, still beautiful even though the photo was taken with my cell phone.sunset-in-la-plata-11-27-08.jpg

Brett’s Website is Up!

Monday, November 24th, 2008

After all his work, Brett’s web page for World Surf Engine is finally up!  He says they are having a few issues with Internet Explorer, but he’s working on that.  Firefox works wonderfully, though.  For the up and coming everything-surf website, go see WorldSurfEngine.com.

The site looks great.  Congrats Brett!
